Eagles Drop Opener to Giddings

Lexington and Giddings opened the 2009 basketball season Monday night. Giddings prevailed 65-57 in the Lee County rivalry. The game was close until Giddings pulled away in the fourth period. Marcellus Mack of Giddings led all scorers with 22 points, 12 came in the deciding fourth quarter. Lexington was led by Kelden Wren with 15 points. Lexington Coach, Charlie Tucker, said, “We found out we have a lot to work on, mostly team stuff. Those things can and will be worked out.”
Lexington lost the game at the free throw line as they failed to convert on half of their 44 free throw attempts.
