Lexington Area’s Best Decorated Yards for the Christmas Season

The Lexington Garden Club, along with the Chamber of Commerce, is delighted to see some Christmas lights already going up in yards around the area. They are looking for the Best Decorated Yards for the Christmas season. Prizes will be awared for the three best yards, and a list of all yards will be printed on flyers and in the Lexington Leader, creating a Christmas Lights Tour for residents and visitors to enjoy. Charm and originality count for more than size of the display. You should have your lights up by December 8 and be sure your lights are turned on at dark so they can be viewed. Winners will be announced on December 13.

Forms are in banks and at City Hall, and in front of the Chamber building. Prizes are sponsored by Round Top State Bank and judging will be done by Bluebonnet Electric Coop.

In other Chamber news, Monday night, December 7, is the annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas Dinner to be held at Granny’s Restaurant. This year, the Chamber will be honoring some of Lexington’s citizens who have been especially hardworking over the past year. The Chamber will be frying turkey and everyone in attendance is asked to bring a side dish, dessert, or appetizer. Feel free to invite a friend or a couple whom you think might be interested in the Chamber or our programs (such as Homecoming, Chocolate Lovers Festival, Park building). Please come and join us if you can! Doors will open at 6 p.m. and dinner will start at approximately 6:30.
