Christmas on the Square

Lexington will have its annual tree lighting ceremony, along with a visit from Santa, this Saturday, December 5, starting at 5 p.m. The event is hosted at the Lexington Log Cabins and Heritage Center located on the north end of the Square in downtown Lexington.

The Lexington Ministerial Alliance will be sponsoring Christmas music, including the First Baptist Church’s children’s choir, along with a choir made up of member churches. The musical presentations will start the evening’s festivities, which will include hot chocolate and homemade cookies provided by Round Top State Bank. Hamburgers, chips and drinks will be sold during the event.

Santa will arrive at dark to turn on the lights of the giant Christmas Tree before he settles in to have his picture taken with area children. Pictures with Santa will be available for a nominal fee or an unwrapped gift, proceeds of which will be for the Lexington Blue Santa Program.
