Busy Day for Grand Jury
On November 24, 2009, the Lee County Grand Jury handed down indictments of 24 individuals.
Gaylon Glenn Bennatt, 40, of Smithville; Timothy Coleman, 49, of Burton; Edward Fonzell Johnson, 21, of Giddings; Neal Brooks Kaupp, 37, of Austin; Robert Hampton Roster, 42, of Caldwell and Brandi Dann Young, 21, of Giddings, were each indicted on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-cocaine, less than 1 gram.
David Cornelius Jackson, 55, of Dime Box and Keith Deshawn Wolridge, aka, Keith Deshawn Wooldrige, were indicted for possession of a controlled substance-cocaine, less than 1 gram – repeat felony offender – habitual. Jason Charles James, 29, of Giddings was indicted on 2 counts – possession of a controlled substance-cocaine, 4 – 200 grams: repeat felony offender – habitual and for tempering with or fabricating physical evidence – repeat felony offender – habitual.
Two residents of TYC in Giddings, Alonzo Dewayne Flowers, 17 and Patrick Lee Saens, 18, were indicted for assault against a public servant – bodily injury. A third resident, Gerold Dewon Walker, 17, was indicted for assault against a public servant – serious bodily injury.
Joe Albert Dixon, 35, of Caldwell and Candice Marie Iselt, 23, of Caldwell, were each indicted for forgery by passing. Chanteil Desiree Wilson, 21, of Ledbetter was indicted for credit card or debit card abuse.
Two indictments for theft of property less than $1500 with two prior convictions were handed down to Margaret Enina Williams, 36, of Giddings. Edward Deshan Smith was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon – threat.
Other indictments included Rodney Allen Beard, 35, of Lexington for evading arrest or detention with vehicle-repeat felony offender-enhanced; James Alan Eldridge, 26, of Austin for abandoning or endangering a child; Justin Scott Hightower, 33, of Smithville for burglary of a habitation – assault; David Levi Jones, 23, of Bartlett for tempering with a witness; Jeffrey Bernard Jones, 56, of Austin for DWIsubsequent, repeat felony offender –habitual; Perfecto Rodriguez Ortiz, 59, of Florence and Rene Santacruz, 25, of Giddings for DWI – subsequent.
