Lexington Police Report

The Lexington Police Department wishes everyone a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

At approximately 2:00 p. m., Officer Sherer stopped a vehicle for speeding in a school zone. Upon stopping the vehicle Officer Sherer observed the driver taking a drink believed to be an alcoholic beverage. It was discovered through the driver’s license check the male was on parole for related charges. The male was transported to the Lee County Jail.

Animal Control Officer Castro and the Blue Paws Organization are continuing their quest on the Feral Cat population. If your pet is missing please contact ACO Castro at 979-540-9791. A reminder all animals kept outside should have a collar and Rabies tags. If you should be missing your pet please contact the Animal Control Officer.

When having a garage sale please take any and all signs down and away when the garage sale is over. Thank you for complying and taking the time to continue to make our City great.

The Lexington Police Department reminds everyone the water restrictions are still in effect. The City is asking all water customers to continue with the schedule as follows: The South side of town will be allowed to water outdoors on odd numbered days (1-31). The North side of town will be allowed to water outdoors only on even days (2- 30). Fifth Street will be the dividing line, which defines the South and the North sides of town. Car washing should be completed in accordance with the same guidelines. If your sprinklers are set on automatic timers please make the necessary adjustments.
