Lady Eagles Open BB with a Win

Lexington’s Lady Eagles opened the 2009-10 basketball season with a win Thursday afternoon in Lexington. Emilie Bell led the Lady Eagles with 12 points as Lexington won 34-20. Friday night on the way to Navasota, the stopped off in Snook for a game. The Lady Blue Jays won 36-29 in a good defensive battle. Deja Griffin led Lexington in scoring for the Snook game with nine points.

The Franklin game was the tale of two halves. Franklin won the first half 16-6 and Lexington won the second half 25-4. The Lady Eagles shut out Franklin in the third quarter with a very aggressive defensive effort.

These early games were only varsity games, since Franklin was still in the volleyball playoffs and there was only time enough for a varsity game at Snook.
