Sadie Mae Evans was born on May 2, 1917 in Groveton, Texas. She was one of three girls born to the union of Sam Patterson and Katie Pruitt Patterson.
Mae was married to Delbert D. Evans on November 20, 1939 in Richmond, Texas. They moved to the Conoley Community near Thorndale from Houston in 1947. She was a member of the Thorndale Baptist Church and always supported the Conoley Community Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and hunting and fishing. Her family was always her first priority.
Mae died Sunday evening, November 15, 2009 in the Conoley Community near Thorndale at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert D. Evans; sisters, Helen Miles and Sally Peterson;son-in-law, Bill Limmer; granddaughter-in-law, Kim Evans; and her parents. Her survivors include her son, Bob Evans and wife Carlene of Caldwell; daughter, Pat Limmer of Thorndale; grandchildren, Billye Smith and husband Ken of Pasadena, Texas, Bobby Nothnagel and husband, Mike of DeRidder, La., Travis Evans of Lexington, and Chandler Evans and wife Kember of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Ty Smith, Clay Smith, Derek Nothnagel, Dustin Nothnagel, Landon Evans, Emilie Evans, Kynleigh Evans, and Kase Evans. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Interment will follow in the Taylor City Cemetery in Taylor, Texas.
