Rice Ousts Eagles from Playoffs

Lady Eagles Open BB with a Win
Lexington’s Lady Eagles opened the 2009-10 basketball season with a win Thursday afternoon in Lexington. Emilie Bell led the Lady Eagles with 12 points as Lexington won 34-20. Friday night on the way to Navasota, the stopped off in Snook for a game. The Lady Blue Jays won 36-29 in a good defensive battle. The Giddings Buffalos beat Brookshire Royal everywhere but on the scoreboard Friday night. Royal won the game 40-21 but Giddings won the statistical battle. Giddings amassed 367 yards of total offense compared to 240 for Royal. Giddings turned the ball over at the most inopportune times. Full Story

The stands at the University of Texas Volleyball court were “influenced” by a deligation from Lexington last Wednesday night (November 11). The Lady Raiders of Texas Tech, led by Lexington’s Amanda Dowdy, defeated the UT Lady Longhorns 25-19 in the first game of a four game match in Austin that night. Full Story
