I used to not miss a play of a Cowboys game. Over the years I quit being such a fan since the aura about the team seemed to go away. Lately it seems as if the aura is returning somewhat since I am drawn to find a parking place in front of a TV when they play.
The Longhorns seem to have things going their way. Everyone seems to be counting wins over Baylor, Kansas, and A&M. Baylor has another quarterback than can play in Florence. Kansas and Todd Reesing have something to prove to the UT folks. A&M is not as bad as they sometimes play. I think that one of these three will beat the Horns unless the Orangebloods remain very focused. History says Coach Mack will not be able to keep them focused. Also the loss will cost UT millions in bowl money.
My friend Bruce Reat told me last week to say something positive about the Aggies. I forgot to type down a comment about their two-game win streak. They proceeded in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in losing to 3-6 Colorado 35-34.
By the time next week’s paper comes out, the Lady Eagles will have played three basketball games. They return almost every one from last season except Ally Abshire. Coach Ryan Starnes coached the girls and got as good a performance as possible out of the young ladies most nights.
