I would like to express my gratitude to Coach Mike Organ, who had a tremendous impact on my life. Math in high school was very difficult for me. Then, I was placed in Coach Organ’s class. He was so helpful and we knew he cared for all of us. When I moved back to Lexington, I wanted my kids to have the same small town atmosphere I had. I know that when my kids go to school or into town there are many others looking out for them. I was so excited when I learned that Coach Organ would be teaching my oldest son drivers ed, because I knew my son would be around a man who was caring, funny, and understanding. I didn’t attend last weekend’s football game, but stood on my porch and could hear Coach Organ’s voice over the speakers. I had to smile. I see Coach Organ from time to time and always tell him that without him I would not have graduated. He always chuckles and says, “I doubt that, but thank you”. The last time I saw him he asked about my oldest son who is in the Army and that made me feel so good. He is a great person and I am thankful I had the chance to know him. Coach, we all still need you, love you and respect you. Thank you for being who you are.
