Commissioners Court Met in Regular Session
The Lee County Commissioners dealt mostly with routine matters in their Regular Meeting on Monday, November 09, 2009. The expected presentation by Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. of the updated Master Plan for the Courthouse was delayed until this coming Thursday, due to a death in the Presenter’s family. This updating is all a part of getting things in order so as to apply for Grant funds from the State Historical Commission for continuing needed repairs to the Courthouse.
Other items handled were approving the reappointment of Keith Hansberger, Glenn Marburger, and Travis McPhaul to the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District Board of Directors.
The Court approved a letter addressed to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts requesting unclaimed capital credits. These funds are to be used for Economic Development and Scholarships in Lee County.
In other actions, the Court proclaimed November as Home Care and Hospice Month, and also approved a Resolution to pursue funding for the Emergency Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants Program.
The Court acted to approve a letter of Agreement with the Capital Area Council of Governments for Lee County to participate in the Regional Emergency Notification System. This system is a way for officials to mass notify area residents via cell phones of a major emergency in their area.
