Middle School Football Report

8th Grade- Their second win of the year came Thursday night in Jarrell to the tune of 14-8. The first half was a scoreless affair. Lexington took over on the Jarrell 15- yard line. Eriq Mitchell ran the ball twice for six-yards each and then scored on a 3-yard trip. Lexington led 6-0 as the PAT try failed. Allen Junek recovered a Jarrell fumble. Following the fumble recovery Jamyon Scott scored on a fouryard run. Mitchell passed to Derek Dane for the PAT. Jarrell scored later to make the score 14-8. Jarrell had the ball with 18seconds left in the game. Their desperation pass was intercepted by Hunter Wilson to secure the victory. Mitchell and Colt Sunvison led the team in tackles. Others making tackles were: Gabriel McMahon 4, Cameron Janda 3, Corey Strain 3, Devin Canon 3, Noble Little 2, and Scott, Kevin Letbetter, Dane, Wilson, Nate Holcomb, and Junek one each.

7th Grade- This team won for the second week in a row. They beat Jarrell 26-6. Andrew Lane got into the end zone first for Lexington giving them a 6-0 lead. Walt Green found his way for a 26-yard scoring jaunt and a 12-0 lead. Tyler Page scored from 45-yards out widening the lead to 18-0. The final Eagle score came on a 60-yard pass play from W.E. Meuth to Bradley Campbell. Page ran across the PAT for a 26-0 lead. Jarrell scored a meaningless TD later in the fourth period. Page had seven rushes on the night for 98 yards. Leading the Eagle defense was Miles Hannigan with six tackles and Samuel Meza with five tackles. Others making tackles were: Campbell four tackles; Jason Handrick, and Lane with two tackles; Caleb Braziel, Henry Heller, Logan Lee, Bryce Shirocky, and Meuth all had one tackle each.
