The Eagles are in the playoffs again this season. Rogers and Salado vie for the third and final spot Friday night while Lexington scouts probable opponent, Rice Consolidated. The Eagles and Raiders played earlier this season in a close contested game won by Rice 26-22.

Giddings is in the playoffs and will face Brookshire Royal in the first round. Even if LaGrange beats Sealy, the Tigers will go as the DI team and leave Giddings #1 and LaGrange #2.

Rockdale and previously stateranked Navasota face elimination from the playoffs if Madisonville tops Navasota Friday night.

This has been one of the hardest seasons to predict as teams win and lose with no reason. Parity in high school football is getting closer as more schools make the commitment to rigorous conditioning programs. The programs have become almost a necessity if a school's athletic program is to be competitive year in and year out.

Can you believe it is only days away from the opening of basketball season? The Lady Eagles have had one scrimmage already and will have another Friday before opening the season Tuesday night in Weimar.

The boys CC team is advancing to the Regional meet in SA. Lauren Johnston has a good chance to make it to state if she has a good day.
