Craig Edward Magee, Jr.
Craig E. Magee, Jr. age 73 of Milano was born December 24, 1935 in Hungerford, Texas and was the son of Craig Edward Magee, Sr. and Dessie (Calaway) Magee.
Mr. Magee has lived most of his life in Milam County. He was a graduate of Milano High School in 1954 and started work at ALCOA soon after graduating from school. He worked in the Enviornmental Control for ALCOA when he retired February 1, 1998 after 43 years. He served as President of United Steelworkers for a number of years and helped establish the Rockdale Federal Credit Union. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, fishing, ranching and being with his family.
He and Joyce Mullinax were married on Aughust 6, 1954 at the Battetown Baptist Church and to this union four children were born.
Craig passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. He reached the age of 73 years, 10 months and 7 days.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Brothers, Marion Chris Magee and Charles David Magee. Brother-in-law, Ray Mullinax.
Surviving are; wife, Joyce Magee of Milano. Sons, James Edward Magee & friend Millie Brooks of Thorndale, Charles Dennis Magee & wife Lillie of Milano, Leslie Craig Magee & wife Maria of Rockdale. Daughter, Sharon Kay Garza & husband Arthur of Rockdale. Brother, John Magee of Rockdale. Sister, Jo Ella Hairston & husband Orbie of Temple. Sister-in-laws, Patty Magee of La Porte, Wanda Magee of Bryan and Helen Mullinax of Spring. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services were Tuesday, November 3, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Shuffield officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery,
