Lexington EDC Offers Business Grants

The Lexington Economic Development Corporation is offering a grant program for projects to benefit the business community in the City of Lexington. Project funds may be reimbursed up to $500 for qualified businesses located within the city limits of Lexington.

Last year, the EDC gave four businesses $500 each as recipients of the EDC Business Incentive Grant, which required the businesses to match the funds given. Those businesses were Salon 77, 4th Street Bakery, Johnny's on the Square and Freeman Auto.

According to a report submitted to the Lexington City Council in September by the Lexington EDC, the EDC has an estimated $200,000 in reserve for promoting economic development for the City.

The EDC officers and board members are Elizabeth Boettcher, President; Alan Turner, Vice President; Candace Schneider, Treasurer; Diane Walch, Secretary; Michael Hess, Kathi Olechowski and Jordan Bexley.

The EDC meets every 4th Monday at the Woodson Community Building at 5:30 p.m. and the public is welcome to attend.
