The mistakes made by the football officials Friday night could have adversely affected the outcome of the game for both teams. The officials are making good money ($45 to $125 per person) for officiating high school football games based on gate receipts. They should be required to attend training each season before setting foot on the field. Some become quite the authorities when they get on the field. Others are just officiating for the money.
The support from all sports teams from high school to the pros for a cure for cancer is inspiring. It seems the athletes are more in touch with reality than some realize.
From what I have seen this year, neither Colt, Tim, nor Sam will win the Heismann Trophy. It will be some one that is having a great year that maybe has not hit the national scene yet. All those with preseason hype seem to be playing themselves out of contention.
I wonder how the Texas Tech/ Texas A&M game will come out. Tech beat Kansas St. 66-14 and Kansas St. beat A&M 62-14. Does that mean Tech will beat A&M by 100? There is already bad blood between the two schools, something like that could mean we would need a wall between Lubbock and College Station.
Texas' defense played a whale of a game, jamming OU's running game into a minus 16 yards. The pass defense was a little leaky but the two INTs helped stop the Sooners. The first half was turnover city and Colt fumbled the ball in the red zone and threw an interception in the red zone that nearly resulted in the winning TD for OU.
