Eagles "Movin On Up" to Florence
Lexington travels to the Hill Country Friday to hunt for Buffalo. They will be looking to take a Florence Buffalo down for their third victory in District 25-AA action and move closer to a playoff spot. Florence will be going full bore after last Friday's 70-7 win over Jarrell. There have been seasons when Florence did not score 70 points. The Buffs have the firepower to score points.
With Lexington's history with Florence, this could possibly be a 'trap' game for the Eagles. Lexington cannot take the Buffs lightly. Florence has a smallish, but quick team. The Buffs are 2-5 for the season and 1-2 in district action. Florence beat Bruceville- Eddy 35-20 to open the season and then their victory over Jarell. In between wins they lost to Crawford 48-6, Blanco 22-14, Rosebud-Lott 48-29, Salado 26-14, and Rogers 55-7.
Doak Hensley is the Buff quarterback. He has thrown for 963 yards, completing 95 of 222 tosses. Josh Herring is the leading receiver with 28 catches for 355 yards and two scores. Balantine Carranco has snagged 22 passes for 209 yards and Daniel Taylor has 16 catches for 174 steps. When the Buffs run the ball it will be Hensley or Michael Ramirez. Hensley has rushed 36 times for 92 yards and Ramirez has 224 yards on 40 carries. Brian Ross had 217 rushing yards against Jarrell with 163 coming in the second half after the slaughter had become secure.
