Edna Mae DuBois
Edna Mae (Eiland) DuBois was born July 18, 1914 in the Gay Hill Community. She was one of 12 children born to Joe and Willie Hazel Eiland.
On April 22, 1933 she and Albert Joseph "Pat" DuBois were married in Milano. To this union five children were born.
Edna Mae worked for Standard Fruit Stand in Milano for many years. She was a member of Milano Senior Citizens helping as organizer of attendee, she made pies and sandwiches for Saturday nights and special functions.
Edna Mae passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009 in the Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale, reaching the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat DuBois on March 25, 1982. Their son Thomas Eugene DuBois on August 22, 1988. Her parents. Five brothers, Vernon, Emory, Otis, Nolan and Floyd Eiland. Five sisters, Anna Ione Pruitt, Avis Rae Yoakum, Laura Hill, Lucille Eiland and Lorena Eiland. Grandson, Philip Jean DuBois.
Surviving; Sons, Boyce L. DuBois and wife Claudette of Rockdale and Joe N. DuBois of Milano. Daughters, JoAnn Newbury and husband Bill of Milano and Loretta Brumbelow of Houston. Brother, Curtis Eiland and wife Jean of Belton. 6 grandchildren, Mark Newbury, Mike DuBois, James Brumbelow, Robert Brumbelow, Thomas J. DuBois, Suzanne Roempke. 8 great grandchildren, Justin DuBois, Travis DuBois, Anna Roempke Morgan, Sara Brumbelow, Rachel Brumbelow, Hanna Brumbelow, Jacob Brumbelow, Jonathan Brumbelow. Brother-in-law, Tom Hill of Temple. Sister-in-law, Glorine Eiland of Austin and Maude DuBois Bounds of Rockdale. Special friends, Donnie Rinn, Alene Redmon, Tommy Standard and the Staff of Standards of Care.
Services are scheduled for 11:00AM Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial to follow in the Sandy Creek Cemetery near Milano with Rev. Doug Springer and Earl Pruitt officiating.
