A Pink Ribbon Affair
Last Tuesday evening, at the American Legion Hall in Giddings, the Lee County Area Cancer Resource Center sponsored the 3rd Annual Pink Ribbon Affair. This special event is held to help promote breast cancer awareness and to help raise money that can be used to help
further breast cancer awareness through the Lee County Area Cancer Resource Center.
This year's event featured an Art Bra Contest that had 86 entries, where breast cancer survivors modeled some very colorful and artistic designs. The evening included a style show, vendor booths, live and silent auctions, door prizes, a quilt drawing and a Breast Cancer Remembrance Candle Lighting ceremony.
Carolyn Jackson, Director of the Lee County Area Cancer Resource Center said, "We were all very pleased with
this year's Pink Ribbon Affair. There were a lot more people who came this year and having so many friends and family members of ladies from Lee County and the surrounding area participate was icing on the cake."
