Sports Thoughts…

by Mike Organ

Lexington did not look as sharp on offense against Salado as they did against Academy. The Lexington defense got gored early but made some adjustments and was nearly impenetrable the second half. Salado spent much of the last half backing up.

The Cowboys are not as good as I want them to be. The boys with stars on their helmets are 3-2 for the season. Both teams that beat them are the only unbeaten elevens thus far in the season. Dallas could have easily been 5-0 if they did not use Wade Phillips' 58 minute defense for a 60 minute game. That same defense almost cost them a game Sunday against the 0-5 Chiefs. I don't think Jerry is happy.

The Texans could not score from the one-yard line. If you can't make it from there, you won't win enough games to make the playoffs.

The Lady Eagle volleyball team is getting better even though they are out of the playoff picture. Coach Robertson keeps them improving as the season progresses.

The Eagles, like the NFL teams and many college teams, wore breast cancer ribbons on their helmets Friday night. It is something that affects more families than most of us know about.
