JV Birds Fall to Salado

The Lexington JV fell to Salado 24-12 Thursday night in Lexington. Lexington got off to an early 12-6 in the first half. Salado scored 18 points in the second half while holding Lexington scoreless. Lexington's two scores came on pass receptions by Zach Lay of sixyards and three-yards.

Both scoring passes were thrown by Jason Washington. Washington completed 14 of 30 passes for the night. The 14 completions netted 115 yards. Colin Wiggins caught six aerials for 69 yards to lead the team. Lay caught three, for 31 and the two scores. Jacob Snyder snagged two for seven, Tyler Meyer two for seven, and Todd Glass bagged one for a yard.

The Eagle ground game produced 35-yards. Todd Glass got 30 yards and Damyon Thompson picked up five.

Defensively Meyer led the charge with nine tackles. Others making tackles and making positive plays were: Antonio Washington 8, Todd Glass 3, Austin Smith 3,Oscar Sauceda 2, Tommy Stegall 2, Damyon Thompson 1 and 2 fumble recoveries, Jacob Snyder 1 and 1 Interception, Colin Wiggins 1, Logan Meuth 1, Christian Conner 1, and Will Martin 1.
