Lahonda Jo Reeves Nisbet

August 20, 1931- October 2, 2009.

Lahonda Jo Reeves Nisbet was born Aug. 20, 1931, in Lubbock, Texas, to Ernest and Carrie Mae (Baker) Edwards. She graduated from Pampa High School and married E. B. Reeves in 1950. They moved to California in 1953 where she was employed at Disneyland for several years.

The family returned to Texas where she was employed as a bookkeeper, her occupation until she retired. She moved to Meridian in 1986 and married Lee Nisbet.

She loved to garden, travel, read, and do scrapbooking for her children and grandchildren. She made sure that our family heritage will go on with her wonderful pictures and stories that she put together over the last 10 years of her life.

Her family always came first in her life. She enjoyed corresponding with all her Pampa classmates through the internet and sending cards to celebrate their birthdays and other occasions. She has left behind a lifetime of wonderful memories to her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Carrie Mae Edwards; husbands, E. B. Reeves and Lee Nisbet; granddaughter, Bonnie Reeves and a grandson, Jason Reeves; brother, Bill Edwards and a sister, Tina McGee.

Survivors: Four children: Ben Reeves and wife, Susan, of San Angelo, Ken Reeves and wife, Sandy, of Waxahachie, Gloria (Reeves) Clark and husband, J. R. of Lexington, Tx, Janie (Reeves) Cain and husband, Dennis, of Walnut Springs; two sisters; Stepchildren: Alan Nisbet and wife, Sharon, of Whitney, Debbie Makowski and husband, Charles, of Plano; 9 grandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday Oct.4, 2009, in the Meridian First United Methodist Church with burial in Meridian Cemetery. Rev. Cynthia Lee, Rev. Richard Creech and Rev. Herb Lammert officiated.

Pallbearers were Ben Reeves, Ken Reeves, J. R. Clark, Dennis Cain, Blake Reeves, Kenny Reeves Joshua Clark and Casey Cain.
