Middle School Football Report
7th Grade- Salado stuck a 30-12 loss on Lexington. Lexington's running game did not generate much offense despite the efforts of W.E. Meuth, Andrew Lane, and Tyler Page. Lane caught three passes, Page one, Bradley Campbell one, Walt Green one, and Logan Lee one. Meuth hit Lane with a 40+ yard scoring toss and a shorter one to Campbell for Lexington's two scores.
Defensively Meuth led in stops with four. Others making tackles were: Lane 3, Clay Brockenbush 2, Lee 1, Campbell one, Dube one, and Miles Hannigan one.
8th Grade- Salado opened a quick 14-0 lead on Lexington. After Eriq Mitchell ran for a couple of good gains, he hit Jamyon Scott with a 20-yard scoring toss. Salado scored twice more to lengthen their lead to 28-6. A Lexington drive that featured a nice run by Mitchell and a 37-yard pass to Scott had the Eagles on the two. Mitchell ran the twoyards for the score. A pass to Scott on the PAT made the score 14-28. The offensive line of Jacob Mills, Colt Sunvison, Cameron Janda, Nate Holcomb, and Allen Junek has improved as the season progresses. Mitchell was 11 of 16 passes for 131 yards. Scott caught six for 80 yards. Kevin Letbetter two for 22, Corey Strain one for 29, and Derek Dane two for 18. Mitchell added 87-yards rushing.
Defensively Strain led the team with five tackles. Others making tackles were: Noble Little 4, Michell 3, Junek 3, Nigel Cleveland 3, Sunvison 3, Devin Canon 3, Dane 2, Janda 2, Gabriel McMahon 2, Scott 1, Holcomb 1, and Hunter Wilson 1.
