Clarence "Harry" Ernest Woelfel

September 12, 1926 - October 1, 2009

Clarence "Harry" Ernest Woelfel was born on September 12, 1926 in Lincoln, Texas to Louis & Alma (Noack) Woelfel. He was united in marriage to Doris Birnbaum on November 23, 1947 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim, Texas and was a lifelong farmer in Lee County.

Mr. Woelfel passed away Thursday morning at Country Care Plex in Giddings.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim, Texas with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Woelfel was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; his brothers, Milton Woelfel and Randolph Woelfel; his brother-in-law, Wilbert Birnbaum Sr. and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Birnbaum and Frances Baylor.

He is survived by his sons, Larry & Brenda Woelfel and Roger & Doreen Woelfel all of Manheim; 4 grandchildren, Renee Woelfel of Waco, Mark & Sunny Woelfel of Manheim, Joshua Woelfel of Manheim and Tonya Woelfel of Manheim; 4 great grandchildren, Sydni Havel, Paige Havel, Layna Woelfel and Jay Woelfel all of Manheim; sisters, Emilie Birnbaum of Manheim, Alice & Noah Fischer of Giddings, Vernie & Erwin Arldt of Paige, Ruth & Harry Wachsmann of Lincoln, Lorine & Monroe Patschke of Lincoln and Ellen & Melvin Schulze of Giddings; brother, Louis & Novaline Woelfel Jr. of Thorndale; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mildred Woelfel of Manheim, Marilyn Woelfel of Lexington, Isdell Birnbaum Sr. of Spring, Robert & Gertrude Baylor of Conroe, Frank & Dorothy Birnbaum of Fedor and Allen & Alice Birnbaum of Manheim as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Mark Woelfel, Joshua Woelfel, Glen Woelfel, Wayne Woelfel, Morris Woelfel and Ronnie Woelfel. Honorary Pallbearers were Renee Woelfel and Tonya Woelfel.

Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Hour or the charity of one's choice.
