Gamma Omega Chapter Meets

The Gamma Omega Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met October 3, 2009. With president Heather Smith presiding there were 49 members present.

Carolyn Golan read the Mission Statement followed by the Collect led by Patsy Ashorn, Joyce Knolle led the pledge to the U.S. Flag and the Texas Flag, the meditation was read by Lillian Knapheide. Peggy Ueckert and committee conducted a Memorial Service for a valued friend and member, Hazel Wilkening.

The program "People, Passions, Possibilities, Political Will: Do We Have It?" was presented by Burleson County Members.

Music was led by Sandria Strong.

Linda Cavender read the responses of those who could not attend the meeting. Natalie Neumann, corresponding secretary, read the correspondence. Shelly Nies, recording secretary, made available the minutes of the August meeting which were approved as printed. Linda Pinkerton gave the treasurer's repot that was approved and filed for audit. Committee reports included Program of Work and Service Project - Jennifer Mohr, World Fellowship - Grace Holtkamp, Achievement - Melanie Conway, Chapter Scholarships - Sue Wieprecht, Membership - Machie Meyer, Year Book - Gail Schroeder, Legislation - Pat Olney.

Hostesses for the meeting were the Burleson County members. President Smith announced the next meeting will be November 14, 2009 with the Hempstead members serving as hostesses. Members from Lee County were Connie Moss, Trudy Holland and Barbara Webb.
