Lexington ISD Board Meeting for September 21, 2009
The Lexington I.S.D. Board of Trustees held their regular meeting on Monday, September 21. The minutes of the August 24 called and regular meetings were approved. The board financial report was also approved.
A public hearing on FIRST (Financial Indicator Rating System of Texas) was held. This system measures the school's financial accountability. There were 24 indicators that were considered, and Lexington ISD received a superior achievement rating.
New legislation requires the board to appoint a Health Advisory Committee each year to make recommendations related to student health and wellness. Employees whose positions relate to health and fitness, and parents interested in student health, were appointed. They were district employees Rachel Hanson, Michael Junek, Jennifer Tucker, and Marla Mitchell, and parents, Oscar and Sabrina Sauceda, Tonya Rhodes and Jerilyn Bristow.
The board agenda items for the October meeting were reviewed.
In the Superintendent's report, Dr. Holt discussed short-term and long-term facilities projects, superintendent's goals, and the Texas Virtual School Network (TxVSN).
