Lexington Garden Club News
The Lexington Garden Club met on September 10th. The outdoor meeting was held at the home of hostess, Lee Marks. An array of delicious breakfast foods, prepared by co-hostesses, Peggy Marks, Lina Murray, Glenn and Marie Spitzenberger was enjoyed by all.
A very informative talk was given by Mark Klym of Texas Parks and Wildlife on "Habitats of Wildscapes for Urban, Suburban, and Small Farm Settings."
Mr. Klym gave out free videos and literature on wildscape diversity and information on what is needed for preparing your land for habitats and wildscapes.
The new 2009 directories were passed out.
On October 8th, a field trip is planned to visit Yonder Way Farms near Brenham; also, the Antique Rose Emporium and Washington-on-the-Brazos. Members will leave at 9:00 a.m. from the Lexington Square. Lunch will be on the Garden Club.
