Volunteers Sought to Help Servicemen
Volunteers are being sought for knitting or crocheting helmet liners out of 100% wool for our servicemen deploying to Afghanistan and Iraq. Anyone interested is welcome to join in this project. These liners are warmer, fit better, and are more comfortable to wear than the issued gear. Full Story

Eagles Put an "X" on Mart
Xavier Ward scored twice early in the game and Clint Hutson added the clincher as the Lexington Eagles beat Mart 21-14 Friday night. The Eagles are now 2-0 for the season and Mart is 0-2. Lexington opened the scoring as Ward broke on a 58-yard touchdown jaunt in the first quarter. The score came with 5:22 left in the quarter on Lexington's third possession of the period. Full Story

The Lexington Eagles will face their toughest test of the season Friday night in Cameron. The Yoemen beat Waco Connally and lost to Gatesville. Both opponents are tough 3A teams. Steven Townsend is the man in Cameron. He is the quarterback that passes well and runs well on designed plays. Townsend is especially talented when the play breaks down. Full Story
Lady Eagles in RTC
The Lady Eagles were 1-2 in pool play Thursday. They opened with a two game win over Buckholts 25-14, 25-22. Johna Alford led the team with seven kills, Karley Wren had nine aces, and Jessica Parish had 10 digs. Ashton Johnston added five kills, Angel Parks four kills, and Wren had four kills. Buffs Dodge Defeat

The Giddings Buffaloes just barely beat LaVernia Friday night. Giddings trailed 26-27 with just over a minute to go. The game was finished late Friday because of a one-hour delay due to lightening. Quarterback Cameron Wehr completed two almost identical passes to move the Buffs into scoring position and for the score with time running out. Full Story

Xavier Ward has scored twice in each of the first two games. Lexington has put two X's in the opponents end zone. Maybe the Eagles will be able to put more X's in the end zone. Cameron will be a tough game for the Eagles. If Lexington can play a complete game, defensively like against Smithville and offensively like against Mart, there should be a Mean Green win. Full Story
