Buffs Bop Liberty Hill
Giddings upped Liberty Hill's losing streak to two in a row with a convincing 25-0 romp. The score could have been worse had Giddings scored each time they were in the Liberty Hill red zone. The Buffs used the air ways to complement their vaunted running attack. Instead of scoring on a 50- yard running play, the Buffs got a 50-yard pass play from Connor Wehr to Marcellus Mack for their first score. The second Buff score came the conventional way on a 10-yard run by David Bradshaw. A 39-yard aerial to Bradshaw put up the third score and Eric Rimes added the final tally on a five-yard scamper. Wehr had 107 yards rushing and 157 passing for a 264 yard total offense output.
Defensively the Buffs held LH to 138 yards total offense. The LH winged-T attack that has been terrorizing teams for the last few years averaged 3 yards per carry for the evening. Coach Fitzhenry was pleased with his defense, but felt the offense should have put more points on the board.
The win avenges several close defeats by Liberty Hill of outstanding Buff teams in recent years.
