Lady Eagles Fell Flatonia

by Mike Organ

The Lexington Lady Eagles captured their first match win Friday afternoon in a five-game effort against Flatonia. Coach Tiffany Robertson said, "We played really well. I have been changing the rotation up almost every game to find the right combination. Until I was satisfied with our performance, I kept changing things up hoping to find the right spots for everyone. I felt like we gelled well in this game, so I feel comfortable in saying we are right there. We just have to stay positive and work hard in practice to get consistent in the things we do."

The team had 17 aces in the win. Megan Scantlin and Marley Ross had four and Jessica Parish three. The Lady Eagles had 16 kills with Johna Alford leading the way with six. Ashton Johnston had five kills. The Green clad ladies had 12 blocks. Johnston led with five blocks, Ross three, and Emily Bell had two. Of the 40 digs for Lexington, Jessica Parish had 16. Marley Ross had 16 assists as she set her teammates.

The Lady Eagles returned to the court Tuesday night, hosting Cameron for three games.

This Thursday and Saturday they will be competing in the Round Top-Carmine Tourney. The JV will be in the Franklin tourney this Saturday.

The Varsity girls will be having a raffle for a $75 Visa Credit Card at the Lexington - Mart football game Friday night. There will be two drawings, one at halftime and the second in the middle of the fourth quarter.
