Lee County 4-H News
The 4-H Clubs of Lee County hosted their annual 4-H Awards Program on Friday, August 14, followed by a dance at the American Legion Hall in Giddings. Open enrollment was conducted during the program, which included many new, first time memberships.
During the program, recognition was given to several Lee County 4-H members receiving top honors for their participation in 4-H. The recipients were: Rookie of the Year - Cole Christiansen, Delaney Hirsch, Hannah Kipp, Kourtney Kubena and Tanner Whitsel of Dime Box 4-H and Mariah Garza of Northwest Lee County 4-H; Honor Roll Award - Kelly Shows, and Whitney Whitsel of Dime Box 4-H and Christopher Schulz of Serbin 4-H; 4-H Letterman - Trent Jatzlau and Kacey Shows of Dime Box 4- H and Darren Siegmund of Serbin 4-H; Outstanding Senior - Tanner Banks, Dime Box 4-H;
Outstanding Club Leader awards were presented to Lucy Torn, Northwest Lee County 4-H and Kim Shows, Dime Box 4-H; Friends of 4-H recognized by Serbin 4-H were Lexi Maxwell and South Lee County Volunteer Fire Department. Dorothy Falke was recognized by the Lee County Jr. Posse 4-H Horse Club.
Scholarships were award by the Parent Volunteer Association of Lee County 4-H. Receiving awards were Melanie Armstrong of Dime Box 4-H, Brent Cromwell of Serbin 4-H and Jeffery Marburger of Lexington 4-H.
