On Sunday, August 16, 2009, the Lexington Log Cabins and Heritage Center, Inc. held a Note Burning Ceremony at the Heritage Center.

Annette Woodward is pictured doing the honors.

Annette is a longtime member, board member and past president of the Log Cabins and was the driving force in the renovations and re-opening of the log cabins in 2002 as well as the building of the Heritage Center.

The Heritage Center was primarily funded by grants from the Lehman Foundation and Alcoa.

At completion an additional $20,000 was needed. With the backing of the Lexington EDC, a note was secured through Round Top State Bank.

Through the generosity of the community and the fund raising efforts of the board of directors, the note was retired this past June.

The Note Burning was the Board of Director's way of saying "Thank You" to the community for their support and encouragement as well as celebrating being debtfree.

Following the ceremony, Ronnie Bryan presented Annette with a plaque honoring her years of service, dedication, and tireless efforts on behalf of the Lexington Log Cabins and Heritage Center, Inc.
