Eagles Host Thorndale

by Mike Organ

The Eagles host Thorndale for their final tune up before opening the season at Smithville next Friday night. Thorndale has a new coach with a new system installed for the 2009 season. Gone is the special athlete, Cody Schneider, who started football at mid season and elevated the Bulldogs to the playoffs after a poor start.

The Jordan boys, Paxton and Tyler will lead the Dogs this season. Paxton Jordan is the leading rusher returning for Thorndale. Shea Maupin is another good sized running back at 6', 185lbs. Weston Fisher and Tyler Jordan give Thorndale experience on defense.

Lexington's new high powered offense will emphasize the Eagles overall advantage in team speed. Giving the Eagle quarterbacks time to find a receiver will be the key to the scrimmage.

The returning personnel and the long time rivalry between the two schools should make for a competitive, spirited scrimmage and get both teams ready for their openers.
