PHOTO BY MARK STRAIN. The 2009 Lady Eagle of Coach Tiffany Robertson had a good first week of practice. The young ladies exhibited a willingness to condition and do all the demanding drills the coaches designed. The week culminated with a scrimmage with Giddings on Friday morning. A trip to Franklin for more interschool scrimmaging Friday afternoon allowed the bump and setters to gain more experience. The Lady Birds then scrimmaged Cameron and Milano Saturday in Lexington to prepare them for the season opener.

Coach Robertson said, "I was pleased with the effort the girls showed against some good volleyball teams. Saturday especially, they played Cameron tough and Milano has been a volleyball powerhouse the last few years."

The season opener came Tuesday night as the Lady Eagles hosted Rockdale. Thursday through Saturday the Lady Eagles will be competing in the Cameron Tourney. Next Tuesday the girls will travel to Franklin for a three team match. The tourney game times are to be announced. The Franklin game will start at 5:00 in Franklin.
