The Lexington City Council will meet in Regular Session on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. at the Woodson Community Center.

In addition to the routine items, the agenda will include discussion and possible action on Group Term Life Insurance for City employees.

Ned Renfroe will present concerns from citizens on problems with the police department. Garry Brown will discuss with the Council the availability of water from a transportation line.

Lori Barnikow will discuss for possible action, changing the regular council meeting hour from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. There will also be discussion and possible action on a representative from EDC being at the monthly City Council Meetings to give a full financial report on what they are doing and planning to do.

Chief Davenport will present for discussion and possible action placing the part-time position of Animal Control Officer on a full time basis. He will also present for discussion and possible action the plan to take the 2003 police cars to Meyer Auction.

The Council will discuss and take possible action on the City paying for telephone and internet service for the Fire Department.

The Council will discuss the proposed tax rate and set a time, date and place for Public Hearing and adoption of the tax rate.

Following reports from Pam Cox and Chief Davenport, the meeting will adjourn.

Note: The City Council may go into executive/closed session on one or more of the above Agenda items, in accordance with the Open Meetings Act. Government Code, Chapter 55.
