Eagles Open Practice
Coach Jason Holcomb welcomed 70 athletes to fall practice with a speech telling them what is expected and not expected. The youngsters are all tying to make the roster of the varsity Eagles which are ranked 31st in the state and 8th in preseason rankings.. After the welcoming speech and meetings the players hit the field about 9:00 am to start conditioning drills that will get them ready for the upcoming season.
Holcomb said, "We are excited about getting back on the field after too long an offseason." Lexington will have a good nucleus to build around. Nine offensive starters and eight defensive sometimes starters give the Eagles more experience that most of the district foes. Seven new student-athletes will be a part of the teams. Only one is a senior, the rest are sophomores or freshmen.
