Senate Appropriations Committee Approves Bill with Funding for Runway Apron
U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced last week that the committee has approved the Fiscal Year 2010 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill, which includes $1 million that Senator Hutchison secured for the San Marcos Municipal Airport to construct an apron linking Runway 4-22 with proposed terminal facilities and aircraft hangers on the North Side of the Airport. The bill is now ready to be considered by the full Senate.
"As Texas' population continues to grow, we must invest more in our transportation infrastructure to keep pace," Senator Hutchison said. "This funding will help stimulate the economy and allow the airport to provide expanded services to air travelers."
This appropriation will help connect North Side Air Terminal with Runway 4-22 and help stimulate flying traffic at the airport.
