PHOTOS BY PATTY SCHULZE. The Lee County Rising Stars mounted drill team held a dress rehearsal on Monday night, July 20, at their Memorial Arena in Lexington to thank sponsors and test run their new costumes. The theme of the costumes is Vintage Cowboy (Roy Rogers and Dale Evans). Although weather threatened with lightning in the sky, a large crowd of approx 75 local residents and sponsors turned out to see the performance. The stands were filled with family, friends and sponsors cheering on the team as they prepared to compete in the 4-H State competition in Abilene from July 27-30. The Rising Stars and Texas Stars teams thank the Lexington and surrounding communities for the generous support they have received and promise to represent Lee County well at the State competition.
