One of the most popular authors at the Giddings Public Library is Stuart Woods and he continues to keep his many fans as he turns out novels, one better than the last. Loitering With Intent (in both hardback and CD), features Stone Barrington as he goes to Key West to investigate drugs and a case of murder.

Smooth Talking Stranger (in both hardback and CD) by Lisa Kleypas involves the Travis family in Houston as Ella Varner looks for the father of her sister's baby.

Pursuit (in both hardback and CD) by Karen Robards has lawyer Jessica Ford entangled with the mysterious car accident that killed the President's wife.

Peggy Webb's Elvis And The Dearly Departed that has the dog Elvis as the main character is a comical mystery about the eccentric Valentine family in Tupelo, Mississippi. Aunt Dimity Slays The Dragon by Nancy Atherton takes place in an English village when a mysterious fair moves in.

Lavender Morning by Jude Deveraux is a charming romantic suspense about a woman who leaves all of her possessions including a mansion to her young protégé. Night And Day by Robert Parker features Paradise, Massachusetts police Chief Jesse Stone chasing a stalker called the Night Hawk. Other new books are What I Did For Love by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Nuclear Jellyfish by Tim Dorsey, and The Given Day by Dennis Lehane.
