Giddings Library News Corner

The Giddings Public Library is filled with all types of books, CD's, etc. and all one needs is a library card in order to check out items.

Fans who like Texas authors will enjoy Bill Crider's books. Crider, head of the English Department at Alvin Junior College, has written a new Sheriff Rhodes novel, Murder In Four Parts, set in the small town of Clearview close to Houston.

Amanda Quick fans, of which there are many, can enjoy her latest,

The Perfect Poison. Quick, a pseudonym for Jayne Ann Krentz, delves into the Arcane Society and finds passion, greed, and conspiracy involving the world of poisons. Some other new books are The Book Of Love by Kathleen McGowan, The Risk Of Darkness by Susan Hill, and Mistress Shakespeare by Karen Harper.

The Silent Man by Alex Berenson is a novel about the terrifying and precarious times we now live in. Two science-fiction novels are Heretics Of Dune by Frank Herbert and Escape From Hell by Larry Niven. The Uncommon Heroes Series by Dee Henderson contains three books—True Devotion, True Valor, and True Honor.

Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins have written two new inspirational books in the Jesus Chronicles series. In Mark's Story, the book depicts the day before Jesus' crucifixion and also tells about the growth of the early church, Luke's Story is scripture-rich in the stories of the Lord's divinity.

Some non-fiction books are Texas State Directory 2009, We Rent Cars, New Pregnancy and Birth Book, Preventing Miscarriage, and Betrayal: The Deepest Cut in paperback by Carol Kornacki
