Giddings Police Report

June 22, 2009

Around 3:25 pm Officer Connolly and Det. Carvin were dispatched to the 600 block of W Boundary St. in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, Det. Carvin spoke to the complainant who advised that it was just a verbal argument, and they did not want to pursue charges. The complainant only wanted them not to return to the property. Three Criminal Trespass Warnings were issued to the subjects that were causing the disturbance.

June 23, 2009

Around 4:03 pm Officer Connolly was dispatched to the Giddings Police Department in reference to a complainant in the lobby that was assaulted. Upon arrival, Officer Connolly spoke to the complainant, Mrs. Gonzales from the Paige area, who advised Officer Connolly that she was assaulted last Sunday, 6-21-09 by her ex-boyfriend, Mr. Flores at his residence in Giddings. The case is under investigation at this time.

June 23, 2009

Officer Spencer was on patrol in the 200 blk of N. Burleson. While patroling the parking of Dr. J's, Kenneth Punchard was observed with an open bottle of Budweiser. After making contact with Punchard, a plastic bag believed to be containing illegal drugs was found under and attached to the bottom of the chair that Punchard was sitting in. Punchard was searched and approximately 4 grams of crack cocaine in a plastic bag was found in Punchard's shorts. Punchard was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance and transported to the Lee County Jail without further incident. Chief Rhoten and Officer Ray assisted in the arrest.

June 24, 2009

At approximately 1607 hours, Officer Harrison received a call from dispatch in reference to a burglary that had occurred at a residence located on W. Boundary St. Upon arrival he spoke with Nicholas Gilbert who stated that he found that his door had been kicked in earlier in the day. Mr. Gilbert stated that he did not notice anything missing.

At approximately 5:22 pm Officer Griffin responded to the B & W Food Mart located at 1079 E. 290 in reference to a white female attempting to cash a counterfeit check. The female left the location before police arrival in a black Lexus 4-door, eastbound. No other information.

June 24, 2009

At approximately 2025 hours, Sgt Anthony Ramirez and Officer Adam Shepard were dispatched to an area across from the high school in reference to an intoxicated male subject calling 911 and gave the name of Rogelio Flores. Sgt. Ramirez located the subject at 1920 N. Main St. and he stated that a male subject was trying to fight him and he took off on foot. As Sgt Ramirez spoke to Mr. Flores he had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath and swayed as he stood. There was another male subject identified as Antonio Celedon, d.o.b 7-5-78. Sgt. Ramirez got an interpreter to speak English for him. Mr. Celedon stated that Flores was trying to fight him. Both subjects stated that they would be fine when we left. As the officers were getting back into the patrol cars, Mr. Flores threatened to hit Mr. Celedon. Flores was placed under arrest for Assault by Threat. Flores was transported to the Lee County Sheriff's Department for process and secured.

June 24, 2009

At approximately 1359 hours, Officer Harrison received a call in reference to a theft that had occurred at Dollar General Store. Upon arrival he spoke with the store manager who stated that she believed a female wearing all black clothing had stolen medicine from the store. He later searched the suspect's car and purse and did not find items matching the description of the stolen medicine.

June 25, 2009

At approximately 2318 hours, Sgt. Ramirez conducted a traffic stop on a blue 2007 Ford Taurus four door at the 1900 block of East Austin St. for a defective headlamp. He made contact with the driver, identified as Albert Gulliver, DOB 03-09-85 and had a check on his driver's license through TCIC and NCIC and it revealed that his driver's license is invalid for failure to appear. Officer Shepard arrived on scene to assist. A passenger in the vehicle identified as Elaine Pittsley, DOB 03-31-79, did not have a driver's license issued to her. Sgt. Ramirez had Mr. Gulliver exit the vehicle and he gave consent to search his vehicle after Officer Shepard advised that he could smell an odor of marijuana emitting from the back right passenger area. The officers had Ms. Pittsley exit the vehicle and Officer Shepard searched the vehicle. Officer Shepard located a small marijuana roach in the ash tray. Mr. Gulliver stated that is was the only joint he had, and Officer Shepard did not locate anymore contraband. Mr. Gulliver was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While License Invalid, and was given a warning for the defective headlamp. Mr. Gulliver was released. The roach was recovered and placed into evidence.

June 26, 2009

At around 8:30 am Officer Connolly was dispatched to the 100 blk of S. Manse in reference to Criminal Mischief. Upon arrival at Pieratt's Pharmacy, Officer Connolly made contact with the complainant. The complainant advised that when he arrived for work that morning, he noticed that someone had spray painted the west side of the building in black spray paint. Photos were taken and the case is under investigation.

June 26, 2009

Around 2:08 pm Officer Connolly was dispatched to the 200 block of Josephine in reference to Criminal Mischief. Upon arrival he spoke to the complainant who advised that when she arrived home from work she noticed that someone had spray painted on her fence. Photos were taken of the damaged property. This case is under investigation.

June 26, 2009

Around 1:54 pm Officer Connolly was dispatched to the 900 block of N Madison in reference to found property. Upon arrival Officer Connolly observed a bicycle half way in their property and in the street, abandoned. The complainant advised Officer Connolly that they did not want the bike in their yard. Officer Connolly removed the bicycle and placed it in the police evidence room.

June 26, 2009

At 10:21 pm. Officer Spencer was dispatched to the 400 block of Rolling Oaks in reference to a disturbance. Willie Sump reported that he was assaulted by Melissa Frerich. Sump had visible injuries. Witnesses on scene supported Sump's account of the incident. Frerich was placed under arrest and transported to the Lee County Jail where she was charged with Assault with Injury (Family Violence, Class A Misd.). Officers Shepard and Connolly assisted in gathering statements from witnesses.

June 27, 2009

At approximately 1626, Officer Brewster along with Sgt. Ramsey met with a complainant identified as William McAuliffe at the GPD in reference to lost property. William advised that several power tools fell out of the back of his white pickup near the 2400 blk of E. Austin. He returned and they had been picked up by someone else. This case is still under investigation.
