Alternative Teacher Certification Program Application Deadline Nears

There is less than a month remaining for application to the Blinn College Teacher Education Alternative Certification Host (TEACH) program for Fall 2009. Applications are due by July 17 with interviews scheduled for July 31.

The Blinn TEACH program provides training for persons who hold a bachelor's degree with a solid foundation in their chosen teaching area. The program offers certifications in mathematics, life science, physical science, science, Spanish, French, special education, generalist, bilingual generalist, English language arts, reading and social studies, and English as a second language generalist. Most participants complete the certification in about 15 months.

The TEACH program is a cooperative effort between Blinn College and local school districts to provide quality, affordable alternative teacher certification to assist in meeting area school districts' personnel needs.
