LISD Board Meeting

The Lexington I.S.D. Board of Trustees held their regular meeting on Monday, June 22. The minutes of the May 18th called meeting and regular meeting were approved. The board financial report and budget amendments were also approved.

The following people were offered probationary contracts for the 2009-2010 school year: Michael Lilley, High School Ag. Science; Lacey Griffith, High School Ag. Science; John Pruett, High School Chemistry; Marsha Kocurek, Speech Language Pathologist Assistant; Lauren Rasmussen, High School English and Jo Carolyn Crowell, Middle School Math.

Service contracts were approved for the 2009-2010 school year. The contracts included administrative services, curriculum/instruction, data services, special programs, and school and administrative support with the Region XIII, Education Service Center, and a contract with Interquest Detection Canines.

Policy Update 85 was approved. The update incorporated federal regulations for the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). It also updated some election laws, use of vehicles and information from the commissioner regarding Discipline Alternative Placements.

The board agenda items for the July meeting were reviewed.

Dr. Holt reported on preliminary TAKS scores, gave a legislative update, and discussed board training opportunities.
