Giddings Library News Corner

Next time you need to honor or remember somebody, give a memorial book to the Giddings Public Library. Dorothy Dismukes is remembered with a cookbook, Fabulous 50's Recipe Collection, filled with such American staples as dips, casseroles, salads, etc. Eva Orlena Pitts is remembered with Home-Tested Casserole Recipes filled with recipes for family pleasing one-dish meals.

Several books were given in memory of Benjamin J. Baca. They include Reader's Digest:The World's Last Mysteries, The Southern Pacific 1901-1985, and The History Of The Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe.

Some new CD's are Lavender Morning by Jude Deveraux, True Detectives by Jonathan Kellerman, Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas,The Second Opinion by Michael Palmer, Execution Dock by Anne Perry, Pursuit by Karen Robarbs, and Loitering With Intent by Stuart Woods.

Borderline by Nevada Barr is an Anna Pigeon novel set in southwestern Texas. Dead Silence by Randy Wayne White is a Doc Ford novel. Illegal by Paul Levine is about a disgraced lawyer hovering between justice and revenge.

Karen Rose has written Kill For Me, a romantic suspense involving six teenage girls.

Pursuit by Karen Robards is a complex story about political conspiracy. The Second Opinion by Michael Palmer tells the story where one woman works to uncover an evil medical practice.

Some other new books are Sweet September by Tricia Goyer, Leaving Whiskey Bend by Dorothy Garlock, Sunset by Karen Kingsbury, Wanted by Shelley Gray, Gingham Mountain by Mary Connealy, Someday by Karen Kingsbury, Marley And Me by John Grogan, The Winter Lodge by Susan Wiggs and Black Ops by W. E. B. Griffin.
