Clint Hutson shook off two mishaps with his starting blocks to get a great start and win the Class 2A 110 meter high hurdle event Friday evening. Twice Hutson's blocks slipped when the starter sent the runners off. Both times the runners were recalled for an "unfair start." The third time was a charm for Hutson. He got a great start, ran flawlessly over the hurdles, and his finish was excellent as he was three or four steps in front of the competition. Hutson literally led from start to finish. Hutson ran a 14.68 in winning his gold medal. Clint's time might have been better but he was suffering from a slight groin pull that has bothered him most of the spring.

This state gold medal will join others he has received over the years from running in AAU summer track meets. Clint has won at the state, interstate regional meets, and at the National AAU meets.
