Hutson Hurdles to Gold
Clint Hutson shook off two mishaps with his starting blocks to get a great start and win the Class 2A 110 meter high hurdle event Friday evening. Twice Hutson's blocks slipped when the starter sent the runners off. Both times the runners were recalled for an "unfair start. Full Story

Five Youth in Vehicle Rollover
Four area teenagers and a man from Georgetown were involved in a one-vehicle rollover accident that occurred Sunday, June 7 at 8:44 p.m. Recent Lexington High School graduate Priscilla Mireles, age 17, was driving a 1998 white Oldsmobile Intrigue northbound on CR 309 near Adina when she lost control while entering a 90- degree left turn in the road. House Movers Move On
The C. W. Hales Moving Company located on Hwy. 290 just east of Giddings moved their last house Tuesday, June 2. The home was a 16' x 40' cabin owned by Donald and Karen Boriak of Fedor and it was being moved to Mike Kennedy's land in Paige. Full Story

Community Cookout Friday
The Lexington Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring their Free Annual Community Cookout at Lexington City Park on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. The Chamber will provide brisket and everyone is asked to bring a side dish, salad, or dessert to share. After two false starts in the Class 2A 110 meter high hurdle events last Friday evening, Clint Hutson got a great start, ran flawlessly over the hurdles, and finished in first place with a 14.68 run. Courtney Jackson threw the discus 121'11" to place fourth in the 2A girls division. Full Story
Summer Leagues for VB and BB
Lexington athletes are using the summer to improve on their skills at various sports. Cameron hosts a volleyball league for girls and a basketball league for boys. Thorndale has a summer league for girls basketball. Lexington has teams entered in all. Full Story

The track and field people performed well in Austin at the state meet. Clint really ran well from the start. After not having a gold medalist in track until Clayton Brown's win, the gold has come Lexington's way a lot the last few years. Full Story

Born Minnie Ola Ford to Major Thomas and Minnie Griffin Ford, she grew up in Lexington, lived in Forest Grove Community, Rockdale, and for the last 25 years in Grand Prairie, Texas. Mineola taught school in Cameron and Grand Prairie. A member of First Christian Church in Grand Prairie, she served as Sunday School teacher, Elder and an example to all. Full Story
