Austin Catchings, Lexington's senior outfielder, was named to the 25-AA all-district team. The team was selected by coaches and the list was released Sunday. Catchings started every game for the Eagles this season in either left or centerfield. His consistent play and hitting earned him the nomination.
Selected for the second team were: Casey Iselt and Josh O'Connor as pitchers, Jacob Carr at second base, and Dylan Iselt for his outfield play. Iselt pitched tirelessly for the Eagles all season long. He would pitch any time Coach Craig Finley asked. O'Connor missed a large part of district action due to a broken hand. When he returned he was very effective on the mound for the Eagles. Jacob Carr played mostly second base for Lexington. He had a little pop in his bat as he banged a couple of home runs during the season. Dylan Islet played mostly centerfield for Lexington. He missed some action with a pulled hamstring hurt during his busy spring. Dylan hit the ball well, seemingly getting a double in most games.
Also receiving votes but not making the select teams were: Kaelan Blok, Quade Haynie, Tyler Moerbe, Chace Sherrill, Chance Sherrill and Austin Bivins.
