A motorist reported three horses running loose on CR 445. Deputy Durrenberger put them up at 2079 FM 3403.

Deputy Easley spoke to a complainant regarding his juvenile daughter. She is sneaking out of the house and he wanted advice and a report.

May 12, 2009

Captain Gonzales attempted to locate a subject for an emergency message. The Sheriff's Office was contacted by a relative who gave a possible address for his brother. No one lived at the residence.

A male subject requested a deputy at his residence because his ex wife was there and refused to leave. Captain Gonzales responded but the caller reported back and advised she had left the scene and no longer needed an officer.

A motorist reported a car down by the Rabb's Creek under the bridge. Captain Gonzales checked on the vehicle and advised dispatch that there is a road by the creek and the driver is there fishing.

The Sheriff's Office received a call regarding a suicide. The caller reported that the grandfather found his grandson hanging. Deputy Robertson, Deputy Carvin and Deputy Durrenberger were dispatched to the scene.

Deputy Easley removed cattle from Hwy 290 West near the Westwood Villa Apartments.

Several motorists reported cows out again on Hwy 290 West. Deputy Robertson and Deputy Aderhold checked along the highway but were unable to locate any loose livestock.

Captain Gonzales and Giddings Police searched for a vehicle that had been stolen from a wrecker yard. Investigation continues.

A local resident reported a man leaving Leobau Store on foot walking towards Hwy 21. The resident reported he is a white male, approx 300 lbs and appeared to be lost. Deputy Robertson and Deputy Durrenberger searched for the subject but did not locate him.

A motorist reported cows out on Hwy 77 just south of CR 220. Deputy Aderhold located the cows and removed them from the highway.

The Sheriff's Office received a call from a resident on CR 117 who wanted to report her boyfriend missing. She advised he was a white male approx 330 lbs with gray hair. Sheriff Meyer, Deputy Robertson, Deputy Easley and Deputy Durrenberger searched late that night into the early morning but were unable to locate the subject. Subject was entered into the TCIC/NCIC computer as a missing person and a message was sent to surrounding agencies. Subject returned home on 05-14-09.

A resident on CR 226 called in suspicious activity at his residence. Deputy Easley and Deputy Aderhold were dispatched.

Deputy Robertson and Deputy Easley put up loose livestock on FM 141 near CR 428.

A motorist reported cow out on Hwy 21 @ FM 141. Deputy Aderhold was dispatched and removed it from the highway.

Captain Gonzales was dispatched to a disturbance at the Westwood Villa Apartments. A caller reported that her sister's boyfriend was trying to start a fight and refused to leave.

Several cows were reported to be out on Hwy 77 just south of CR 220. Deputy Easley responded and advised that the owner was already on sight putting up the cattle.

A motorist reported a vehicle on FM 696 East to be failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Deputy Easley located and stopped the vehicle. The occupants were checked out and found to be okay.

Deputy Aderhold searched for an 18-wheeler that was reported to be stalled out on Hwy 77 South. He searched all the way to Warda and was unable to locate the vehicle.

Captain Gonzales spoke to a business owner on Hwy 290 East regarding criminal mischief to his fence. A report was made and investigation continues.

An off duty officer reported to Deputy York that one of the carnival workers was just fired and he was last seen walking in traffic on Hwy 290 West. He was intoxicated.

Captain Gonzales and Deputy York assisted at the scene of an accident on Hwy 290 East near the Fayette County line.

The Sheriff's Office received a call from a subject who advised that two kids were physically fighting. Deputy Easley was dispatched and reported back that everything was okay. The two juveniles were no longer involved in an altercation. The fight began over ranch dressing.

A motorist reported a black cow out on FM 2440 approx 3 miles west of Giddings. Deputy Aderhold responded and put the cow up.

Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Pettijohn were dispatched to one of the rides at the Lee County Fair to check out a large fight. Two juveniles were involved and were released to their parents.

A caller reported a truck parked on the iron bridge on CR 326. They appeared to be intoxicated and the caller requested they be checked out. Deputy Aderhold was dispatched.

A subject at the BBQ cook off called and reported an intoxicated white male at the cook off area had started a fight. Deputy Pettijohn located the subject and arrested him for public intoxication.

Deputy York had a white car towed that had been abandoned on the side of the road on FM 696 East for approx one week.

A caller reported that a white male appeared to be very intoxicated and had urinated in public near the carnival rides. Deputy Pettijohn was dispatched and the subject was removed from the fair.

Another caller reported a male in the cook off area causing problems and refusing to leave. Deputy Pettijohn was dispatched and the man was arrested and booked into Lee County Jail.

A resident on CR 307 reported that the neighbor's are playing their music too loud and disturbing them. Deputy Aderhold spoke to the neighbor and they agreed to turn it down.

Deputy York was dispatched to FM 1697 at the Nails Creek Bridge to remove approx five head of cattle.

A motorist reported a gray car broken down in the road on CR 430. Chief Deputy Kothmann searched the area but was unable to locate it.

Deputy Carvin and Deputy Durrenberger responded to a disturbance on CR 309 in Lexington. The resident reported that a female was on his property causing problems and refused to leave. The two parties involved in the verbal altercation were separated for the night.

The Sheriff's Office received a call from a male subject who wanted to file charges against a man who is harassing him. Deputy Carvin spoke to the complainant and it just turned out to be a misunderstanding.

Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Carvin assisted Lexington Police at a disturbance at the Lexington Cleaners.

A resident reported four cows out on FM 1697 near the Nails Creek Bridge. Deputy Carvin responded and got the cattle off the roadway. The owner's were notified.

It has been a year since the American Veterans Traveling Tribute Wall was on display in Giddings. With this being Memorial Day weekend, originally called Decoration Day, let us not forget those who have given their all in our nation's military service that we may remain free.
