Stanley Loses Chrysler Franchise

Chrysler announced last week that Stanley Autoplex in Giddings is one of their dealerships slated for loss of their franchise on June 9, 2009. Last Thursday, the automaker submitted a list of 789 Chrysler dealerships that would be closed due to their bankruptcy filing. Stanley also sells Chevrolets and will continue to be a Chevy dealer.

Included in that list of Chrysler franchises are six Central Texas dealerships, including Stanley, Chuck Nash in San Marcos, Allen Samuels Dodge in Austin, Kirk Jackson Motor Company in Lockhart, Immel Motors in Fredericksburg and Soechting Motors in Seguin.

Terry Dooley, manager of Stanley Autoplex in Giddings said, "We're not at all surprised nor disappointed. We've been losing money on our Dodge and Chrysler products and we are happy to be the only car dealer in Lee County. As of June 9, we will no longer be a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep dealer."
