Star of Lexington Drill Team Challenge
Seven youth and adult drill teams from Lee, Williamson and Milam counties came together on Monday night, May 4, in Lexington Texas Memorial Arena for the "Star of Lexington Drill Team Challenge". The freestyle equine drill competition was put together in order for teens and adults to sharpen their skills before the official Texas 4H drill season commences in June. Different styles of drill were showcased, includ- ing Color Guard, Quadrille, 12 person teams and family teams.
Pictured are the winning team and second place team from the event.
The Winning team is named 5T, and is made up of the Turner family, of Lexington. They are Mike, Shann, Shylee, Ariston, and Cortlin.
The second place team is named Hawaiian Hoofbeat, and its members are Amber Schulze, Kim Cross, Shylee Turner and Kasey Goodson.
Trophies were built and provided by Taylor Sporting Goods.
The Lee County Texas stars 4H Equestrian Drill Team, which sponsored the event, represents the Central Texas area in rodeos, parades and competes in State 4H horse club shows. They invite surrounding county families to join and compete in equine events.
